Continued growth: D2C Logistics is part of the PVS Group

Hamburger Hafen

Since October 2022, D2C Logistics GmbH & Co. KG. based in Hamburg has been part of the PVS Group. Managing Director Jan-Felix Topp and his team are fully dedicated to the direct-to-consumer business and support well-known brands in establishing and expanding their direct commerce. For international brands that want to launch in Europe, they take over distribution logistics and ensure a smooth process at the finishing line.

Whether it’s a tiny washer, a 3-meter-long model component, or deck chairs – the Hamburg Fulfilment Centre stores, professionally packs, and ships a variety of goods.

Individual orders from end customers and collective orders from distribution partners

In addition to model manufacturers, D2C-Logistics’ customers also include manufacturers from the advertising materials industry and various Amazon aggregators. The range of services is correspondingly diverse. “We ship individual small parts to end customers, but also consignments of up to 1,000 order items to wholesalers. This means that we have extremely flexible and efficient processes and logistics capacities,” emphasises Jan-Felix Topp, Managing Director of D2C Logistics. “This agile and scalable infrastructure is one of the great advantages of D2C Logistics.”

E-Commerce aggregators – a rapidly growing market

Third-party providers have become the backbone of large E-Commerce marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay. Experts believe that these aggregators now account for around 60% of Amazon’s GMV (Gross Merchandise Volume). That’s twice as much as it was ten years ago. D2C Logistics supports various aggregators with import, storage, and shipping. Since aggregators do not specialise in a particular assortment but rather purchase goods in large quantities at short notice and across industries, the new PVS site is equipped to handle a variety of scenarios.

New warehouse with automotive store equipment

Preparations for relocating the warehouse from Elmshorn to the neighbouring town of Uetersen are currently in full swing. Currently, the floor is being renovated. Next on the agenda are IT infrastructure, fire protection, and security technology. The new warehouse space was leased for 10 years, covers an area of 8,000 m², and has a fibre optic connection, as well as an automated small parts warehouse with 11,000 storage units. For Uetersen, multi-shift operation, including coverage on Saturdays is planned. Various systems for automated volume measurement, labelling, and sorting are currently being tested. In parallel, the D2C logistics team is experimenting with digital aDocumentation tools that record package status by video or photo.

Seller Fulfilled Prime Programme – greater reach and higher conversions

“We are constantly advancing our services and supporting our clients in the introduction of new business models. As part of this, we are currently working on a fully integrated set-up to process Amazon Prime orders in a timely manner at all times, so that our customers receive SFP (Seller Fulfilled Prime) status. To ensure the high Prime requirements, we rely on late pickup and backup scenarios for delivery. In this way, we offer our customers rock-solid solutions, and our clients benefit from better visibility and more sales,” explains Topp.
